![]() ![]() Its in a college town so you cant expect too much. This place is average when it comes to bowling venues. The only downside is the loud teenagers sometimes but hey, its a bowling alley. Never smelled smoke like some of the other reviews say. We come here all the time with groups large and small. They do have a snack bar although it is a little pricey.įun place to bowl with family and friends. They need a couple if 99 cents days and nights though this would help the less privileged in the community that would like to bowl be able to afford to come and join in on the fun. They have a decent size game room and lots of prizes to pick from. No drinking or smoking is a plus when looking for a place in Athens to take the kids. The cost seems a bit high to me, but the environment was awesome! I wont bowl anywhere else any time soon ! If you want to bowl in the Athens area, dont come here! Were college students for Gods sake!!!īowling here was a blast! The place must have been renovated pretty recently, but still has that nostalgic quality you almost expect when bowling. Payed more than $17 for three games with ONE friend. You pay a ridiculous amount per game PER PERSON! Greatest rip-off I have experienced. This is a decent bowling alley but it has a brutal stink of smoke. It also features an arcade room with air hockey, pool, ski ball, other arcade games and a small prize center. On the plus side this bowling alley is clean and has a modern design. Most of the balls had huge nicks and gouges, and all were scratched. The concession booth has basic food options that, in a town with great restaurants, seems very sub par. ![]() Newly renovated in 2017, but still no beer. You will not be disappointed giving this place a visit. This is the only area that I know of in the city that offers bowling. The bowling area is nice as well and the updates made to the scoring is awesome. The updates and improvements that have been made are AWESOME!! The staff is very professional and friendly. I hadnt visited this place since before the update until last month on my anniversary. If I could give this dump zero stars, I would. I guarantee youll have an actual bowling experience there. But why would you expect anything else? They have no competition in Athens, so they can be assholes and provide zero service. Bumpers? Of course not - only for parties with kids. If you need a lighter bowling ball and dont have a child with you, forget about it. But they seem to have forgotten about the league bowlers who called the place home. Place looks great for folks who just want to have fun and dont take bowling seriously, which I get is most people. All geared towards the masses and not people who actually know how to bowl. If youre a league bowler who remembers the nice, wooden lanes.theyre no more. Went back for the first time since they reopened. The place is old, outdated, and management/ownership is running the place into the ground. I also found out the biggest league they had was a 12 team mixed league. I checked their league standing sheets that they had posted and found out they do not have one mens league there. How does a guy get a ball drilled if there is no pro shop? I was very disappointed that I couldnt buy a beer. Their reasons ranged from the manager not caring about the league bowlers and focusing on open play, to the owner not having beer/alcohol. That cant be very safe.Īfter talking with some of the league bowlers, it seems like Showtime has seen a serious down turn in their league bowlers. The game room was the biggest part of the entire place. I dont think they have been changed since they originally opened back in the 1980s. The place is dark and the back drops are terribly outdated. Open play lineage was rediculous at $5.99 a game. I may be a bit spoiled since I normally bowl at Brunswick owned bowling center but I wasnt impressed with the facility.
